Frequently Asked Questions About Barbara’s Services
1. What exactly does your consulting business entail?
The primary focus in my consulting business is to help clients (friends) interested in owning small businesses to develop a plan of action.
2. How is this plan of action developed?
The main method of helping clients get clear about their desire involves an initial face-to-face meeting where they share with me their ideas for a small business.
3. What do the clients do in this first meeting?
In the first meeting, I listen to the client’s plan or idea for a business, if they have ideas. If no plan exists, I ask them to describe for me as accurately as possible, the kind of business they envision owning.
4. What happens next?
With the information I obtain from the client in the first meeting, I create a plan of action if the business idea is sound and it appears that there is either a need or a market for the business.
5. When is the plan shared with the client?
The client usually returns two weeks after the first meeting, and in this meeting, the plan I have developed is explained and shared with the client.
6. What does the plan include?
The plan includes all that is necessary to develop or launch the business such as directions on locations, equipment, licenses, etc.
7. Do you make any guarantees to the client about the business plan you developed?
No, although everything that is needed to successfully launch the business is provided in the packet I give the client, I cannot guarantee that the business will be a success; it should be however, over time, if the client follows information given.
8. How much are your consulting fees?
Because each client is different, some are more knowledgeable than others about what they want, each client pays a different fee. There is however, a minimum charge per visit, since it generally takes about an hour to determine the efficacy of a business idea, when one exists.
